Key Person Scheme
§ A Key Person Scheme is used to plan and co-ordinate the development of each child, within the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This scheme is based on continual observation and assessment of each child at the Nursery.
§ A Key Person is assigned to each child shortly after they start Nursery. They ensure that the needs of each child is recognised within the Nursery and that the daily programme or curriculum is devised to meet the child’s unique needs. Whilst the Key Person has special responsibilities for the children assigned to them, their immediate needs during Nursery sessions will be attended to by any member of Staff present in the room where they are.
§ We hold regular consultations and parents/carers are encouraged to take advantage of our open door policy.
